University of Northern Colorado Mathematics Contest
The UNC Math Contest is open to all Colorado students in grades 7 - 12. Students enrolled in any public or private school and students that are home-schooled are all welcome to participate. The contest is designed with participants in grades 7-12 in mind. Younger students may participate as guests if they have an interest.
Both rounds of the UNC Mathematics Contest are pencil and paper exams. No electronic devices are allowed.
Timeline for the 2011-2012 Competition
- The First Round of the competition will be on November 3, 4, 5, or 6. This round is 90 minutes. It is administered by teachers in their own schools. Students, you should check with your teacher for the date he or she will administer the contest for you at your school.
- Scoring Day will be Saturday, November 19.
- The Final Round will be on Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on the UNC Campus. Participation in the Final Round is by invitation based on performance on the First Round.
- The Awards Banquet, for Final Round winners, their parents, and their teachers, will be on Sunday, April 15, 2012 on the UNC Campus.
Teachers: Registration Information
- If you administered the exam last year, you are automatically registered to receive the contest materials for this year. If you are a teacher or a parent of a home-schooled student wishing to participate for the first time, or if your email has changed, you can register to receive the materials at the Math Contest Blog. Please register by Friday, October 28. When you register you will receive details about administering the contest. The administration is very straightforward.
